'Do as you wish' {Arabella, Aurich}

"I gave him an ultimatum, Arabella. He's not willing to give up glory for you. If he's not willing to give up glory for you, how much can he possibly love you?"
Arabella Eberstark

That stops her a minute. Looking down at half eaten apple pie with many a thought running through her head. He'd mentioned the ultimatum...
"I know what you want in someone for me, but do you expect to ever find someone like that? He's Garou, and Silver Fang with that. When I frst met him... I encouraged him to become more then the impetuous man he was... to make something of himself. Now I suppose I shouldn't have..."
Glancing at Aurich confusing and bothered by everything now. Trust is a fragile thing.
"I've only ever know heroes, Aurich... can you fault me for looking for one, or trying to make one of those I emet? Can you faul them for trying to live up to the lofty image of you... because otherwise they're overshadowed by you with me."
The primary and central figure to her adoration and love was Aurich. For many years now, she'd been the shadow and more...

Brand shakes his head. "I don't fault you anything. But the truth remains, our hero father died young and left our mother behind. And now I will vanish and leave you and Genevieve behind. Heroes are good for stories. Terrible for those around them."
He sighs, eating the last of his pie and dropping his fork on the plate. "I just want you to be happy, Arabella. Not just now, but always. I'm doing what I think will ensure your happiness. If you truly think I'm wrong in this, tell me now."

"Do you think Mother ever regretted the fact Father died and left her? At least she had some time. Its better then avoiding it all for the chance at possibly being left in pain. If Genevieve was so shallow. she would have stayed home and begun mourning, perhaps looking for comfort... you insult us all with that sort of thinking, however good your intentions are Aurich. I know you care... but you go about it the wrong way." Its such a rare rare thing Bella voices dissent in anything Aurich says, seriously... and she set her plate down on the counter, her appetite an elusive thing these recent weeks.
"I do think your wrong. When you're gone... and perhaps my closest friends with you, who will be left to be my friend, to comfort me? What few people around me, Genevieve, Danica, and Mother if I should just hide away in Doenhoff... they will be in the same place I am. Maybe this thing wih Tucker will never grow. I don't kno, because simply, I've never had the chance to find out. No one has ever dared court me before, seeing the the half dozen Garou who stand between me and them.. but for the sake of what will come Aurich... I need someone there to help fill the gap, if only as a friend and Tucker has been that to me."

Sun 06:19AM CST
A long time Brand just looks at her. Dark brown eyes threaded with green, and their regard can be so heavy. It's the stare of a crownbearer, one that could reduce lesser men to nothing without lifting a finger. He would've made a fine king.
Would've could've should've...
Won't.
"Do as you will, Arabella," he says at last, with an exhale. "I cannot stop you anyway, not when all memory of me will ultimately fade. But if he hurts you, or damages you in some way, you will tell me, or, if I'm -- unavailable, one of the pack. Do you understand me?"

She knew how much the tribe lost in losing her brother. She'd been looking up to Aurich for many many years. It wasn't an entirely happy gaze on him now, but only partly of his making. The future made her unhappy... he at least gave her outlets. Nodding slowly, the comment about memory bothering her... he'd never mentioned that before."I understand Aurich, and I would, even without you asking."
The next small concern, well not so to her, slightly tugging on ehr lower lip, caught between pearly teeth a moment before it was let go. "Are you angry with me... disappointed?"
Brand
Sun 06:27AM CST
Leaning back in his chair, it's a tired, fond smile he gives his youngest sister. "Oh, Bella. Of course not. I just wish I could wave a hand and make everything perfect and right, so I can go with a settled heart."

Sun 06:32AM CST
"I think everyone who cares for anyone wishes that Aurich, even I. I would never let you go then..." Scooting up and pressing a soft sisterly kiss [of hanks, of sadness, of wishful thinking] to his cheek. The soft glow of bemused gratitude for him in the face. "Thank you for this though... I know you worry, but trust me too. I need to grow up sometime. Wouldn't you rather it be when you can still help me up when I might make mistakes?"
Brand
Sun 06:35AM CST
"Ha. Grow up," he scoffs, grinning at her as he ruffles her hair, "you?" Then he grows serious, smiling. "You're already grown up."
He chucks her under the chin and then passes her his plate. "Serve me another slice. It's not so bad. I'm going to go look for some Tums, though." He lifts himself up, winking. "Just in case."
Arabella Eberstark
Sun 06:37AM CST
Taking the plate, attempting to dodge the hand ruffling her hair with a gasped sound of outrage. "You can be such a beast sometimes, dear brother. I almost hope my pie does give you indigestion." But its said with a smile as she dances away from him to serve up another slice.
